EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER

The role of the headteacher is to lead and manage the school and the day to day operations of St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy.

LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEAD ROLE (MR BARLOW)

  • Promoting, developing and leading the partnership between the schools, understanding, preserving and developing the Catholic ethos.
  • Advising the Academy Committee on matters related to the school and the collegiate.
  • Advising the Academy Committee on the schools’ aims, objectives, policies, targets, priorities, plans, monitoring and evaluation of progress and impact.
  • Leading on strategic thinking, planning and development and resource management of school, with the aim of improving educational provision and pupil outcomes.
  • Leading on school self evaluation and future school development
  • Leading on monitoring the impact of teaching and learning on pupil’s progress.
  • Reporting to the Academy Committee and Board of Directors on the delegated budget.
  • Deploying the Deputy Head and exercising direct line management to ensure that under the delegated authority of the headteacher, the Deputy Head will have responsibility for the day to day organisation and operation of their school.
