Deputy Head

 Resposibilities

  • The Deputy Head will be responsible to the Headteacher, however they will report independently to each of their governing bodies on matters related to day to day management
  • To take a lead in the responsibility for the well being and discipline of  pupils in their school , and to carry out such other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the Headteacher
  • To understand their professional responsibilities in relation to school policies and practices including the high expectations you set for them.
  • In conjunction with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team be accountable for raising the standards of teaching, learning and attainment for all children.
  • In conjunction with the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team make an impact on the educational progress of pupil’s in the school by being involved in evaluating the performances of pupils and evaluating the school’s effectiveness and planning for improvement.
  • In conjunction with the Head and Senior Leadership team ensure that pupil’s experience quality teaching and learning which is consistent throughout the school and monitor the impact of teaching and learning on pupil’s progress.
  • Liaise with  Phase Leaders, Extended School and Inclusion Leaders to ensure provision for the full range of  learners needs, aspirations and capabilities across the school
  • Under the delegation of the Headteacher plan and deliver agreed staff training and meetings.
  • To plan and deliver assemblies according to the liturgical year.
  • To develop links with the Parish community by attending, when possible, Parish events, especially those that involve the children.
  • Be the Designated Child Protection and Looked After Children Officer and keep up to date with Safeguarding training, Child Protection Procedures and know and use the Safeguarding website.
